Youtube
join my journey
I had been wanting to make a channel ever since 2014. The Youtubers I would follow at the time and even to this day are KianAndJc and Bethany Mota. I felt like my personality just fit to make videos. I planned to start back in January 2017. However, I became frustrated because my editing skills were not as good as they are now. I decided not to start the channel while also just leaving everyone with the confusion of why I never did. Fast-forward to 2020, we are in the middle of a pandemic and I was at a point in my life where I wanted to just focus on my brand and creation. I had already been doing a couple episodes on my podcast. I felt empowered to start videos for those who wanted to see my lifestyle but visually not just hear about it. That’s when I finally launched my YouTube Channel.
tune in
I would listen to podcasts here and there. At the end of 2019, I had to submit a project for one of my Chicano Latino classes for my undergraduate studies. I decided to do a podcast-like project. From this point on, I enjoyed the editing and talking aspect of a podcast. During the pandemic, I decided to make a brand logo of Smile Jess Action, the name I made since 2017. I did it and it motivated me to start my podcast and be in touch with my listeners. I love being relatable and that guide for myself but also for others. I felt like this is something I was meant to do, put my words out there and help people along the way.

stay in the know
So this is actually something new. I have never done blogs before but I also have an interest in writing. I want to start this new journey on this platform for those who like hearing stories through writing and maybe not listening or watching videos. I mean it’s amazing if there are people who love all my platforms and visit them all. I know I’m like that as well. However, I want to reach the audience who loves reading. My stories will be on here ready for the fresh eyes to dive into the new beginnings.
